Tezpur: A day-long workshop on petroleum product conservation in agriculture sector was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sonitpur in the Napam campus on Wednesday. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Promod Ch. Deka, Head, KVK, Sonitpur. Dr. Deka welcomed the participants and the dignitaries and explained the objective of the workshop. Dr Deben Baruah, Professor, Department of Energy, Tezpur Central University, elucidated the measures by which the use of petroleum in agricultural operations could be minimized and thereby energy could be conserved for the benefit of the society. He also emphasized different techniques for minimizing household fuel consumption. He elaborated the use of solar and biological sources of energy in agricultural and household consumption.
