MANGALDAI: Bringing a hope of new ray to the unemployed young generation as well as to the agri farmers of Darrang district, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) has come forward with a 30 day duration training and workshop on vermicompost at free of cost. In response to the request of promising agri entrepreneur Dhruba Jyoti Saikia who was earlier conferred the ‘Best Farmers’ award by the State government for organic farming, the IIE has agreed to sponsor the workshop to be organized for the first time in the district. DJ Agro Farm owned by Dhruba Jyoti Saikia at Ramgaon village near Mahaliapara in Darrang district has already made arrangements for the workshop. The participants will be selected on the ‘first come first serve’ basis in view of the limitation of the seats for 30 participants only.
Interested participants are requested to contact Dhruba Jyoti Saikia within May 15 as the workshop will begin from May 20 next. Prominent and experienced persons in the field of organic farming are likely to join the workshop as the resource persons.
Mention may be made here that the vermicompost is the integral component of organic farming which has also the great possibility to be taken up on commercial purpose while per kilogram of earthen worm fetch a lucrative amount of Rs. 3000.
