World Animal Day: Animal health cum vaccination camp held in Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI: World Animal Day was observed in Hailakandi district on Sunday. ICAR, Krishi Vigyan Kendra organized an Animal Health cum Vaccination Camp at Chandpur West where a total of 31 domestic animals were treated and 133 animals administered vaccine for foot and mouth disease together with free distribution of medicine. ICAR, KVR, In-charge, Dr. Bijoy Chetri urged the villagers to nurse and take care of animals and work for their welfare and protection. Eminent veterinarian, Dr. Jayanta Talukdar, who was present in the camp, said special care must be taken of animals during rainy season when they are mostly afflicted with diseases. Officials and veterinarians attending the camp said friendship between humans and animals is considered to be reliable and everlasting.

They said every animal has the right to co-exist with us; they should also be treated with love, compassion, and care.
