DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh Airport celebrated World Environment Day (WED) on June 5 by planting plants in its vicinity. The objective of the plantation drive was to plant 200 saplings at the airport premises and AAI Residential Colony to encourage people to plant more trees and make people aware about the importance of a healthy and green environment.

All the stakeholders of AAI, which included CISF, airlines and concessionaires, gathered and contributed to the plantation drive. Representatives from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh district led by Rashmi Pratap also took part in the initiative. The plantation drive ended at AAI, Residential Colony, Mohanbari.

All the activities were conducted while ensuring social distancing norms and other precautionary measures related to prevention of COVID-19.
