World Wildlife Day observed in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The Department of Zoology of Digboi College, in association with Nature Conservation Foundation, Mysore and Forest Range Office, Joypure under Dibrugarh Forest Division and NSS Digboi College Unit, conducted the day-long celebration of World Wildlife Day, 2019, with special reference to Hornbill conservation and other important flora and fauna.

The programme started with introduction by Duleswar Tamuli, Forester I, followed by a speech by Sarat Chandra Neog, Range Officer of Joypure under Dibrugarh Forest Division on the occasion. Rajib Rudra Tariang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology of Digboi College, delivered the lecture on the topic ‘Climate Change and its impact on Wildlife and Human Population’. With 120 slides on the topic, Tariang highlighted the present forest cover in the entire globe and also what caused global warming and how population was going to suffer if not checked. He laid stress of protection of forests.
