LAKHIMPUR: In view of ensuring physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing, a long-term yoga training programme was inaugurated in Lakhimpur district on Sunday.
The yoga training programme has been initiated by Nara Gaon Milan Jyoti Sangha under the management of its sports section. Prominent yoga practitioners Sanjib Borah and Ranjit Kakati will conduct the yoga training by participating in the programme as chief trainers. People can participate in the programme wherein yoga training will be conducted to boost immunity, for increased flexibility, muscle strength and tone, improved respiration, energy and vitality, balanced metabolism weight reduction, cardio and circulatory health, improved athletic performance, mental clarity and calmness, increased body awareness, relaxed mind, center attention, generation of skills to relieves chronic stress patterns, sharp concentration and self-awareness.
Regarding the inauguration of the training programme, a ceremonial event was organized at the playground of Nara Gaon Milanjyoti Sangha under the management of president Deva Dutta who explained the objective of the yoga training programme. It began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by retired SSB Officer Kinaram Hazarika. In the event, Sanjib Borah explained the importance of yoga in daily life while Ranjit Kakati threw light on how the regular practices of the yoga could help to achieve a balanced body, mind and spirit and render spiritual development. Emerging yoga practitioner Joylakhi Payeng demonstrated several yoga postures in the inaugural event.
