Young multilingual writer Anjan Baskota felicitated in Tezpur

BISWANATH CHARIALI: A special felicitation programme was organized by Nagsankar Mandal Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Sootea LAC in an auditorium of Dakhin Nagsankar High School on Tuesday with Chaitanya Bora, the president of Nagsankar Mandal Yuba Morcha in the chair.

The programme was organized to felicitate Anjan Baskota, a young and multilingual writer who was awarded with the Kabi Bhakta Rai Smriti Sahitya Puraskar by Kabi Bhakta Rai Smriti Mandap (Siliguri) in an award distribution ceremony held at Tezpur recently. Baskota was felicitated with a gamosa, a xarai and a packet of books by the committee in the function.

Lila Kanta Sarma, the headmaster of Dakhin Nagsankar HS, highlighted the literary contributions of the young writer in the meeting. Addressing the gathering, the award recipient said that recognition makes a writer more responsible towards his society whom he represents. The special felicitation function was also attended by Ballav Chapagain, Rishiraj Sarma, and other dignitaries.
