Youths of Dima Hasao urged to take up entrepreneurship

HAFLONG: Dr Sukamal Deb, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, NEZ in-charge, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, appealed to the youths of Dima Hasao to become entrepreneurs.

Dr Deb, who was here at Haflong on an official tour, said that by becoming entrepreneurs, the youths would not only help themselves but also the whole society as they would be able to offer employment opportunities to many others as well. Assuring all help to the youths who wanted to become entrepreneurs, Dr Deb said that KVIC would be helping and guiding them in all aspects. He explained vividly about the flagship programme titled Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

Sharing his experience about Dima Hasao, Dr Deb said that there were tremendous opportunities and resources in the district for the youths to become entrepreneurs. All they needed was mentorship.

Explaining about the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme, Dr Deb assured that the KVIC would be available 24X7 to help youths who wanted to take up entrepreneurship and they could directly contact the state office in Guwahati.
