Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei feted for his bravery at Galwan Valley

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh felicitated Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei from the Senapati district for showing exemplary courage during the clashes with Chinese troopers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) at the Galwan Valley in June 2020.

IMPHAL: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh felicitated Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei from the Senapati district for showing exemplary courage during the clashes with Chinese troopers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) at the Galwan Valley in June 2020.

Acknowledging the efforts of Rangnamei, in a tweet, the Manipur chief minister wrote, "Felicitate Capt. Soiba Maningba Rangnamei from Senapati Dist, Manipur of 16 Bihar Regiment who led his men during the Galwan confrontation, at my official residence today. The State always encourage our youths to join the armed forces and participate in safeguarding the Nation."

As per local media reports, Rangnamei was a student of Sainik School, Imphal from class VI to XII, and graduated from the National Defence Academy in Pune. He passed the Joint Training Academy and was commissioned on June 9, 2018, from the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun.

Captain Rangnamei is from the 16 Bihar Regiment of the Indian Army. Both Rijiju and Singh took to Twitter to hail the bravery of Rangnamei. Earlier, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted: "He is Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei from Senapati District in Manipur.

He led his men from 16 Bihar in Galwan during the confrontation against the Chinese PLA.. (Agencies)
