IMPHAL: A 17-year-old boy Namoijam Naoba Meetei, from Manipur, has cracked the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam in his first attempt, with an All India Rank 27. Conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the merit list for the test was declared on Tuesday (July 6).

Hails from Khonghampat Khunou in Imphal, the 17-year-old boy was born to Namoijam Naran Meetei and Namoijam Premila Leima. Raised alongside three siblings, he had consistently been inspired by the Indian Army since he was a kid.

Manipur Chief Minister N.Biren Singh posted a tweet to congratulate him.

While pursuing his studies in Sainik School, he developed an interest in the way of life and the work carried out by the army officers or the military officials. Brought up in Manipur, where parents encourage their children to pick JEE or other specialized tests, the aim to serve the Indian Army remains a hesitation. In any case, Naoba consistently focused on his goal.

According to the reports, he said that he has always centered on all-around development and after speculating different career choices, this line utilizes all that he has done and learned until now, so he picked this and chose to follow what he has always wanted.

It is to be mentioned that Naoba took the exam in September 2020, when he was still in school and was in the halfway to show up for his XII Board Exam. He cleared the accompanying exam in his first attempt. He believes that if one needs to succeed throughout everyday life, hard work and sacrifice is the key. Additionally, one needs to work smart, not just work hard.

This news of the Manipur boy, whose top rank achievements for breaking the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam in first attempt is one of the happiest news for the country. Now, Naoba is excitedly waiting for the call letter, and wishes to serve the country till he can.
