Manipur: Amit Shah Lands In Imphal, Attends Cultural Gathering

According to sources, Amit Shah attended a cultural event at the City Convention Center after arriving in Imphal.

IMPHAL: On January 5, at around 7 PM, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah touched down at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Manipur. At the airport, Shah was greeted by chief minister N Biren Singh, members of his cabinet, the BJP president A Sharda Devi, and other BJP Karyakartas.

Amit Shah attended a cultural event at the City Convention Center after arriving in Imphal. The home minister will dedicate and lay the cornerstone for 21 various development projects totaling Rs. 1311 crore on January 6.

The Manipur Olympian Park Sangaithel, Fruit Preservation Factory Nilakuthi, Churachandpur Medical College, Moreh Town Water Supply Scheme, Nongpok Thong Bridge at Eastern Side of Kangla, Infrastructure Development of DM University, Marjing Statue Complex, Development of Cave Tourism Project at Kangkhui Cave, Model Residential School at LM Block Ukhrul, and 100 Bedded Residential Senior Living Facility are among the projects that will be inaugurated.

The Jiribam-Tipaimukh Road, 40 police outposts, the Manipur Exhibition Center, District Youth, Skill and Employment Centers in five districts, the construction of the Jiribam-Tipaimukh Road, and Integrated Management of three water bodies are some of the projects that will receive the foundation stone.

According to sources, The construction of Manipur Olympian Park began in 2021. Keystone Infra Pvt Ltd worked with Manipur Police Housing Corporation Ltd to build it.

Manipur, also recognised as the state's powerhouse for its outstanding contributions to the sports world, has so far produced 19 Olympians.

Three of them bring medals to this major athletic event around the world. The medal winners are hockey player Sanglakpam Nilakanta, weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, and MC Marry Kom (Bronze in 2012 London) (bronze in Tokyo Olympics 2020).

Manipur has so far produced 19 Olympians, earning it the nickname "the powerhouse of the state" for its outstanding contributions to the sports world.

Three of them bring medals to the biggest sporting event on earth as a result of it. The medal winners are weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu (silver Tokyo Olympic 2020), hockey player Sanglakpam Nilakanta, and MC Marry Kom (bronze 2012 London) (bronze Tokyo Olympic 2020).
