IMPHAL: In a decisive collaborative effort, a joint operation conducted by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police has led to the recovery of a substantial cache of explosives, arms, and war-like stores in various valley districts of Manipur within a span of 24 hours. The successful operation, which transpired on August 29, 2023, was prompted by reliable intelligence.
In the first operation, targeting the Kamu Ridge area in the Thoubal district, the combined team meticulously scoured the region based on credible information. This operation proved fruitful as it resulted in the seizure of a notable array of armaments and ammunition. Among the confiscated items were an impactful haul of 9mm pistols, 8 hand grenades, a radio set, assorted ammunition, and an assortment of other items typically associated with military equipment.
The second parallel operation unfolded in the general vicinity of Nongpok Sekmai, also situated within Thoubal district. This meticulous search mission, conducted concurrently with the first, led to the uncovering of an additional cache of weapons and explosives.
