IMPHAL: A vehicle, most likely a Mahindra Scorpio, was involved in an IED detonation that happened at around 7.15 p.m. on the Bridge south of Kwakta near Ward No. 9.

Two persons were suspected to be dead and four were injured in Kwatka, Bishnupur district, while an official confirmation of the number of casualties is still pending. Several onlookers reportedly witnessed the driver leave a Scorpio that was parked over a culvert.

The district of Kangpokpi reported the other two incidences. A gang of criminals attacked locals in Leimakhong's L Tangnaum neighbourhood at around seven in the morning. There was a brief exchange of gunfire after a detachment of Assam Rifles interfered, according to officials.

However, Imphal East residents reported hearing automatic small weapons fire at roughly 5.45 p.m. in the area of Urangpat, north of YKPI. Sources claim that in the interim, the situation has been under control.

Security forces dismissed the reports as "false" despite social media posts claiming that some 1,000 criminals had gathered in several Kangpokpi locations, including Gwaltabi and Urangapat.

In order to prevent them from reaching the villages to investigate the situation or send more reinforcement, a group of women protesters reportedly blocked at least 5–6 locations between Sawombung and Yaingangpokpi, according to a second official who also declined to be named.

Meanwhile, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, called a meeting of all parties in New Delhi to discuss the current state of affairs in Manipur.

The Congress has called for a "all-party meeting" on June 16 to discuss the violence in Manipur, claiming that the nation needed answers from the government over the out-of-control strife.

Since May 3, when the ethnic conflict between the state's numerically majority Meitei community—which makes up 53% of the population—erupted in the northeastern state, at least 115 people have died and almost 40,000 have been displaced.
