GUWAHATI: The Director of Agriculture, Manipur government, Ph Rajendra has since assured the farmers that there will not be any shortage of urea in the State.

Speaking to media persons, Ph Rajendra said that the situation is being monitored constantly. He added that Manipur requires around 15,000 tonnes of urea every year; but the Central Government usually supplies 20,000 tonnes to the State, which is more than sufficient.

The Chief Minister and the Agriculture Minister of Manipur have already directed the officials to inspect the private urea dealers and their godowns to ensure smooth supply of fertilisers during this farming season, stated a PIB release.
