The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare releases 1st instalment of Rs. 75 crore for Churachandpur Medical College

Imphal: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released an amount of Rs. 75 crores for Churachandpur Medical College. This is the first instalment for the Churachandpur Medical College project.

Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh shared the information via Twitter. He said that it is the first of its kind medical college in the hills of Manipur. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his affection towards the North East India region and the people of the hills, and the endurance for the people of Churachandpur.

Earlier in September, the health minister of Manipur along with a team from the health department visited the proposed site for the medical college near Mata village, Churachandpur district. The present estimated cost of construction is Rs. 329 crores. It is a joint project between the centre and the state with 90:10 funding ratio, respectively.
