SHILLONG: Around 116 Bangladeshi illegal migrants have been detected from 2018 till August 31, 2021 in Meghalaya. This was stated by Meghalaya Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui while replying to a question raised by Congress MLA Winnerson Sangma during the Autumn session. He further informed that 36 illegal migrants were detected during 2018, 18 were held in 2019, 37 in 2020 and 25 up to August 31, this year.
Lahkmen Rymbui also informed the House that 16,400 inter-state migrants without proper documents have also been detected during the same period.
