2 more BSF jawans tested positive for COVID 19 in Meghalaya

With the recovery of 43 patients in the state, the active number of COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya stands at 25

Guwahati: 3 more personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) have tested Covid 19 on Saturday, July 4, informed Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma. With the recovery of 43 patients in the state, the active cases stand at 25.

Earlier, CM Sangma also informed that 4 persons who have been identified as "high-risk contacts" of a COVID-19 positive patient have tested positive in Meghalaya's Ri Bhoi district.

Amid a surge in Coronavirus cases in the district which borders Guwahati in Assam, the hotbed of COVID-19 positive cases in the Northeast, the state government on Friday imposed a 48-hour curfew in the areas from Byrnihat to Khanapara, beginning at 9 pm on Friday.

Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong yesterday instructed Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner to issue the order and ensure that people do not come out of their houses during this curfew.
