SHILLONG: Meghalaya, on Saturday, registered the highest number of recovered cases in a single day with 298. With this, the total number of recovered cases in Meghalaya has gone up to 6,034, informed Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War. Of the recoveries on Saturday, East Khasi Hills registered 223 (Armed & paramilitary forces: six; civilians: 217; Ri-Bhoi: 55; West Garo Hills: 18; East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills: one each.
The total number of active cases in Meghalaya is 2,295. A total of 8,404 number of persons have tested positive; of them, 75 have died due to the virus till date.
Dr. War further informed that Meghalaya recorded 101 new COVID-19 cases followed by East Khasi Hills: 56; West Khasi Hills: 30; West Garo Hills: 11; Ri-Bhoi: two; South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills: one each.
The Director of Health Services also informed that of the 1,85,467 samples tested till date, results of 1,77,063 samples were negative. Meghalaya has 66 containment zones. The case fatality rate is 0.90.
