SHILLONG: In a significant event commemorating India’s G20 Presidency, Akashvani Shillong organized a seminar on Tuesday at NEHU Campus, Shillong.
Commissioner Secretary to the Governor of Meghalaya, Dr B D R Tiwari inaugurated the event where he called upon the students and participants to imbibe the values of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ which is the theme of G20 under India’s Presidency.
Dr Tiwari elaborated the idea of ‘Sarvajana Hitaya Sarvajana Sukhaya’, meaning the well being of all and the happiness of all, a world where the community and larger good take precedence over individual interests. Dr Tiwari said the G-20 presidency of India is a unique opportunity for our country, as India has many useful lessons to share with the world related to living a harmonious lifestyle with nature. He further said that the seminar is to engage the youth on this glorious occasion of India’s G20 Presidency and sensitize them to the deliberations related to the sub-themes.
In the technical session, Aiborlang Wanswett, Senior Director (IT) & Scientist F, National Informatics Centre, Meghalaya, Shillong presented a paper on ‘Digital Technologies for Sustainable Development’. An open quiz related to India’s G20 Presidency evoked a massive response and the participants showcased their level of awareness and enthusiasm, stated a PIB release.
