SHILLONG: An Awareness programme was held at Len Mawtep Sohiong on November 12. It was conducted by the 'Meghalaya State Legal Service Authority' (MSLSA) in collaboration with East Khasi Hills Police.
Albert Lyngdoh, Coordinator Access to Justice, MSLSA spoke at length on the need of self defense against atrocities by persons who commit crimes against women and children while touching on legal and technical aspects; reporting of crime ; access to justice and role of MSLSA besides other issues.
The DSP (Crime Against Women) Sandra Nongdhar spoke on the rising trend of crime through social media, cyber frauds and the need to educate parents and children and the role of the police.
