WILLIAMNAGAR: East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Vibhor Aggarwal officially launched the Ayushman Bhava campaign with the theme, ‘An.sengBaljokani’ in the district at a function held at Vocational Training Centre of AH & Veterinary Department at Williamnagar on Tuesday where the people from all walks of life participated.
Launching the campaign, the Deputy Commissioner urged the people of the district to avail the facilities being provided by the government through various departments like Health, Social Welfare, Agriculture, etc. and at the same time urged the officials of all the line departments not to leave anyone behind in providing the services and facilities of the government.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr LM Sangma, DMCHO, stressed the importance of registration for MHIS and ABHA for availing health care services. He also stressed the need for screening for early detection of Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) or the killer disease and urged the people of the district to avail the free health care services being provided the Health department.
Dr Jimmy Carter Ch Marak, Senior Medical and Health Officer, spoke on the importance and benefits of blood donation while Madonna T Sangma, District Social Welfare Officer, deliberated on Rashtrya Poshan Maah and informed that the month of September is being celebrated all over India as nutrition month.
During the launch of the campaign, MHIS cards and vegetable seeds also were distributed by the Deputy Commissioner to the selected beneficiaries. Earlier, DM&HO, Dr Ivory A Sangma, while delivering welcome the address, highlighted various healthcare programmes of the department which can be availed by the people and stressed the need to have Aadhaar cards for availing the schemes of the government, stated a press release.
