SHILLONG: The Meghalaya unit of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has taken upon themselves to ensure that free foodgrain and vaccination announced by the Central government reach the beneficiaries. This was stated by the national general secretary in-charge (organisation) of the party, Arun Singh who is in the State on a two-day visit.
Singh added, "We have planned out that our party workers will reach out to every village and every ration shop and they will ensure that the foodgrains reach the people."
It may be mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that during the pandemic, 80 crore people will get free ration of five kg till November.
The Prime Minister had also announced vaccination to all people over 18 years for free.
"Awareness campaign will also be launched by our party workers and also help people to come for vaccination. We will go from village to village and to every polling booth to ensure that people should get maximum relief," Singh added.
According to the national general secretary in the last seven years of the BJP regime in the Centre, the government has been able to build the Inter State Bus Terminus, National Institute of Technology, Cancer Hospital, Mega Food Park, Shillong-Tura Road, upgradation of Shillong airport, medical college, PA Sangma stadium at Tura.
"When the Congress was there for more than six decades in the Centre they ignored the progress of Meghalaya. However, the government of Modiji did a lot of things in seven years and more are in pipeline," said Singh.
The Prime Minister has said that he is always ready to ensure the progress of Northeast India, and also that there will not be any financial problem for the purpose. Schemes like PM-Awas Yojana, JJM, are Central schemes many people are benefitting across the country and even in the Northeast. "It should be ensured that beneficiaries get the benefits like houses and drinking water. It should be ensured in Meghalaya each and every beneficiary should get the benefit and our karyakartas party workers will ensure," he added.
