SHILLONG: BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai on Saturday provided financial assistance to 36 committees.
These committee comprise of Christian Tribal Church Committees, Christian Non-Tribal Church Committees, Dorbar Shnong, Village Council, Covid Care Management Team (CCMT), Welfare Societies, Hindu Welfare Committees and Muslim Welfare Committees of the 19th South Shillong Constituency as a mark of goodwill gesture to celebrate Christmas, New Year and also to promote peace, harmony and secularism in 19th South Shillong Constituency. The total amount of Rs 10,00,000 was spent from his salary for the programme.
Applauding the effort of all the communities in promoting peace and harmony in the constituency, Shullai said that all initiatives will be taken to ensure that the spirit of secularism is promoted in the entire constituency in particular and the State of Meghalaya as a whole.
