Border Security Force troops recovered 11 kg ganja in Meghalaya

SHILLONG: Acting on a tipoff, troops of 28 Bn BSF (Border Security Force) in Meghalaya observed suspicious movement of some persons near the border fencing in the Kalaichar area of South West Garo Hills in the wee hours of Saturday. On being challenged by the BSF troops, the smugglers fled away taking advantage of darkness and heavy downpour. The BSF team carried out a search operation and recovered 11 kg ganja, wrapped in four plastic bags. Later on, the seized ganja was handed over to Meghalaya Police for further legal action and disposal.
