BSF Meghalaya Frontier organizes 'National Unity Day'

To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day)

SHILLONG: To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day) pledge-taking ceremony was organized by the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier, Sector Headquarters at Jowai, Mawpat and Dobasipara as well as other location of BSF battalions in Meghalaya.

At the BSF campus in Umpling, the oath was administered by Inspector General Hardeep Singh. Addressing the troops, he stated that the 'RashtriyaEktaDiwas' will "provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country."

A series of other events which include marchpast will be organized by the Border Security Force at different BSF location in of the State to mark the 'National Unity Day', stated a release.
