Cabinet reshuffle in Meghalaya, Dasakhiatbha Lamare allocated Transport department and PWD

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has switched some department between a few Ministers in the MDA (Meghalaya Democratic Alliance) government.

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has switched some department between a few Ministers in the MDA (Meghalaya Democratic Alliance) government.

The reshuffle of portfolios are with respect to Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, James PK Sangma, Sniawbhalang Dhar and Dasakhiatbha Lamare.

The Chief Minister has switched the Power department from James Sangma to Prestone Tynsong. The Health Department and the Department of Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs which were under Tynsong have now been allocated to James who will also take charge of IPR, and Forest department.

As of now Tynsong will take charge of the Power department besides Parliamentary Affairs, Housing and PWD (Roads).

Meanwhile, Dasakhiatbha has been allocated the Transport department and PWD (buildings).

The reshuffle of portfolios has been undertaken at a time when there is investigation into allegations of irregularities in the MeECL (Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited).

Minister Sngewbhalang Dhar has been allotted Tourism, General Administration and the Fisheries department including his existing portfolio.
