SHILLONG: A day before the first anniversary of Arch Bishop Dominic Jala in a road accident in USA, the Catholic faithfuls of Meghalya continue to feel the void left behind by him during the past one year. Reverend Dominic Jala, the local man who rose up to the higher echelon in the Roman Catholic Church is now remembered for being a learned man with humility and the person who forgo all the regalia of the position he held. Known for his simplicity to discard the robes even in important rituals to display his down to earth personality, People from all spectrums told this correspondent that the priest with vast knowledge being missed. Going along with his simplicity, the first death anniversary will be remembered with a simple Holy Mass at the Catholic Cathedral located in Shillong. Reverend John Mudur told The Sentinel on Friday that it will be simple affair and a souvenir about him will be released on Saturday.
