Christmas celebrated in Shillong with joy and religious fervour

SHILLONG: In Shillong, the midnight mass was led by Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh of the Shillong Archdiocese.

On Saturday, the whole day mass was held in Churches across the State.

In Shillong, a large number of faithfuls attended the mass at Mary Help of Christian Cathedral in Laitumkhrah.

Several tourists were also seen throughout the day visiting the churches and other places in Shillong.

Faithfuls also congregated at the Mawkhar and Laitumkhrah Presbyterian churches to celebrate Christmas.

Commercial hubs like Khyndailad (Police Bazar), Laitumkhrah and several localities lit up in Christmas lighting.

Also, churches, offices, commercial complexes and private buildings were illuminated and decorated Christmas trees put up in private houses.

Governor Satya Pal Malik, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh and Leader of Opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma wished the people on the occasion of Christmas.
