SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, on Wednesday, held a series of review meetings pertaining to development projects and initiatives in Tura.
In the meeting held with senior PWD officials, the Chief Minister reviewed the road connectivity projects to be taken up in and around Tura town. The PWD department has finalised the list of roads that are to be taken up under the project for which the Chief Minister said an amount of Rs 50 crores has been sanctioned. The Chief Minister also reviewed the Tura Urban Beautification scheme under the Smart Tura Town project. The development and beautification of several key junctions and landmarks around Tura will be taken up under the project for which an amount of Rs 13 crores have been sanctioned.
Later in the day, the Chief Minister also visited the proposed site for a new auditorium. The Chief Minister also visited the existing District Auditorium and Library complex at Ringrey and discussed with officials on the immediate measures to be taken up to improve and upgrade the existing infrastructure. Sangma also reviewed the status of the mini practice ground that is being developed at Chandmary playground. The project will equip the existing playground with artificial turf upgraded facilities.
