CM Conrad Sangma, NPP leaders campaign in Phulbari for District Council elections

There was a massive crowd turnout at Phulbari during an election rally for GHADC (Garo Hills Autonomous District Council) carried out by Meghalaya Chief Minister and national president of NPP (National People’s Party) Conrad K Sangma.

SHILLONG: There was a massive crowd turnout at Phulbari during an election rally for GHADC (Garo Hills Autonomous District Council) carried out by Meghalaya Chief Minister and national president of NPP (National People's Party) Conrad K Sangma. More than 10,000 people were present at meeting held on the playground near the Phulbari Market, where Tarif Ibrahim Sarkar is contesting from the Shyamnagar Constituency. T.I Sarkar is son of (late) Manirul Islam Sarkar, former Minister of Meghalaya.

Speaking at the rally, various political and community leaders spoke at length on the various developmental programmes undertaken by the NPP-led government in the Garo Hills and also across the State. Local MLA Esmatur Mominin praised CM Conrad K Sangma for sanctioning various road projects in the plains-belt area of West Garo Hills, including the ongoing Agia - Tikrikilla, Phulbari-Tura Road.

NPP candidate Tarif Ibrahim Sarkar promised to continue the legacy of his late father; and to work for the overall development in the plains-belt area of the Garo Hills.
