Coffee Table Book on 75 Young Entrepreneurs compiled by Dr Kalam Centre

SHILLONG: Chanchal Kumar, Secretary, MDoNER, Government of India, released the Coffee Table Book on 75 Young Entrepreneurs compiled by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Centre for Policy Research and Analysis, IIM Shillong. The book is a compilation of inspiring stories and documents the journey of 75 successful young entrepreneurs from North East India who are under 40 years of age and felicitates them for their achievements. Through this coffee table book, an attempt has been made to recognize and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of North East India. Dr. Kalam Centre has taken this initiative to recognize the business prowess of the youths with the aim of further supporting them in scaling their businesses through management intervention, handholding, mentoring, and various forms of support that IIM Shillong could provide.

The event was attended by senior officials of MDoNER and IIM Shillong, including Atul Kulkarni, Member Board of Governors, IIM Shillong; Prof. D. P Goyal, Director, IIM Shillong; and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Ningombam, Centre Coordinator, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research and Analysis. During the release event, a few entrepreneurs who have made a place in this collection also shared their journey, the challenges they faced, and their concerns about developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. Entrepreneurs present at the event were Dasumarlin Majaw, Smoky Falls Tribe Coffee, Meghalaya; Tage Rita, Naara Aaba, Arunachal Pradesh; Bhaskar Bhuyan, Digibility, Assam; Pallav Gogoi, Bhaskar Homestay, Assam; Bijiyashanti Tongbram, Sanajing Sana Thambal, Manipur; and Pranay Kumar, The Chakras Farm Pvt. Ltd., Sikkim.

The Coffee Table Book on 75 Young Entrepreneurs of NER is an initiative of the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research and Analysis, IIM Shillong. It is conceptualized to honour the dedicated efforts and commitment of the region’s young entrepreneurs on the occasion of 75 years of glorious independence. This coffee table book witnesses some of the fascinating and inspiring stories of young men and women at NER who have demonstrated extraordinary effort and skill in transforming their business ideas into reality. The publication is a celebration of their hard work, determination, and undying spirit among the young minds of the region, stated a press release.
