District Magistrate allows opening of shops at Tura Main Market and Supermarket

TURA: West Garo Hills District Magistrate Ram Singh on Sunday allowed the opening of essential commodities shops in Tura Main Bazar area including Tura Supermarket on Monday, Wednesday and Friday subject to strict adherence to the COVID protocols, from 8 am to 1 pm. The wholesalers will be allowed to open their shops on the same days from 5 am to 1 pm, stated a release.

The non-essential shops including the hardware, electrical, plumbing and sanitary ware, computers service centres, mobile repairing and automobile repairing shops are allowed to open on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm. Customers are not allowed to enter the shops and the shop owners have been directed to maintain barrier outside the shops and wear a mask and use sanitizers.

According to the order by the West Garo Hills District Magistrate, all fruit and vegetable shops at Tura Supermarket including the ground floor shops of Nakham Bazar and Kabul will remain closed with immediate effect which will be accommodated elsewhere by the CEO of Tura Municipal Board (TMB).

The District Magistrate also directed the CEO of TMB to arrange the hawker zone outside Tura Main Market on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 am to 1 pm.
