SHILLONG : Good Friday was observed across the State with solemnity by the Christian community in Meghalaya on Friday.
Though, there are multiple Christian denomitions (Churches) in the State, the focus of the special services and the sermons from the altar was to enliven the Christians (according to the Bible) about the death of Christ and his redemption to save the world from the worldly sins.
The urged through these special services and attended by the followers of Christ is to follow his teachings in the present world that is plague by violence, hatred, hunger and poverty.
During the services, sermons were given from the altar, where the faithful were reminded of Christ teachings for compassion, love and forgiveness.
The sermons gave in the different churches thrust on the significance of Christ teachings in the present world that is plague by violence, hatred, hunger and poverty.
