SHILLONG: The Governor of Meghalaya,
Satya Pal Malik gave his consent to grace the ensuing sixth convocation of the
University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) and confer the
degrees. The convocation is likely to be conducted in the first half of
December, 2020. He also assured to extend all kinds of support to USTM during
his tenure. The Governor gave the assurances while interacting with a team of
the varsity led by the USTM Chancellor M. Hoque along with advisor Dr. R. K.
Sharma, and other officials including Executive Assistant Ifegenia Kharkrang at
the Raj Bhavan, here on Tuesday.
The team welcomed Governor Malik with mementos, flower bouquets and gifts. The Governor is also going to be the visitor of the University very soon. In the brief interaction, USTM Chancellor Hoque apprised the Governor about the progress and performance of the University. The Meghalaya Governor said, "I really appreciate the remarkable achievements in the field of education by such a young self-financed private university in the north-eastern region", stated a release.
