SHILLONG: The Jaintia Students Union (JSU) has expressed it's displeasure over the government's decision to allow the willing families to bear the expenses of bringing their loved ones who are stranded in different cities across the country back to their home State Meghalaya.

Taking cognizance of the Meghalaya government's decision, the JSU placed half a dozen questions to the Chief Minister through a letter on Monday.

Sharing the inputs from students and professionals stuck in the lockdown in many parts of the country, the students' union questioned the logic of the State government.

The union raised questions like "what do those families do which cannot afford to bring back their dear ones. The other query poised was "how will the government ensure their safety and security if they have to travel thousands of kilometres".
