Guwahati: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MPBOSE) declared the result for the higher secondary school leaving certificate (HSSLC) or class 12 board exams earlier in the morning today, and the merit lists of Science and Commerce streams have been declared.
This year, Kaustab Choudhury from the St. Anthony's Higher Secondary School has topped the exam from the Science stream by securing 468 marks. A St. Anthony's student also stood first in Commerce, as Komal Sharma topped the stream with 445 marks.
The lists of toppers in Science and Commerce are as follows:
A total of 3,615 Science stream students and 2,203 Commerce stream have appeared in the Meghalaya Board examinations this year, which began on March 2. There are 12 candidates in the Vocational stream. The result booklet of MBoSE examination has been discontinued from 2014, according to controller of examinations TR Laloo.
He also said the results booklet can be downloaded from the board's official website www.mbose.in. Laloo said that there will be no display of Meghalaya board results in MBoSE office at Tura and Shillong, and even in the examination centers, due to the COVID-19 situation.
Students can check their results by following these steps:
1) Visit the official site
2) Click on the link of HSSLC 2020 results
3) Log-in using the credentials
4) Result will appear
5) Download the result
Candidates can take a print out of the downloaded result, which can be used as a provisional mark sheet. The original will be released by the schools later.
A total of 30,697 students had registered for the Meghalaya Board HSSLC exams this year and the exams were conducted in June. Some of the exams could not be completed due to the lockdown that was called to contain the coronavirus.
The pending papers on Mathematics, Physical education, and Statistics were conducted from June 8th to June 10th. The combined results for all these exams are going to be announced on Thursday.
