742 new COVID Cases Detected in Meghalaya, 974 Recovered Also

SHILLONG: For the third consecutive day, Meghalaya recorded more new recoveries than fresh COVID-19 infections, thus bringing down the number of active cases.

On Sunday, the State recorded the highest single-day recoveries with 974 and 742 new COVID-19 infections. The State also recorded 13 fatalities.

Of the 13 deaths, East Khasi Hills district registered 10, Ri-Bhoi, West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills districts registered one each.

With the latest figures, the State now has recorded 564 COVID-19 fatalities, 7496 total active cases and 27130 total recovered cases.

Of the 742 new cases, East Khasi Hills recorded 316, West Garo Hills (84), South West Khasi Hills (80), Ri-Bhoi (65), West Jaintia Hills (62), South West Garo Hills (47), East Jaintia Hills (35), North Garo Hills (20), West Khasi Hills and East Garo Hills 12 each and South Garo Hills nine.

The district-wise distribution of active cases are - East Khasi Hills (3438), Ri-Bhoi (1241), West Garo Hills (671), West Jaintia Hills (533), South West Garo Hills (418), South West Khasi Hills (303), East Jaintia Hills (248), North Garo Hills (190), West Khasi Hills (178), East Garo Hills (148) and South Garo Hills (128).

Of the 564 total deaths, East Khasi Hills recorded 460, West Jaintia Hills (37), West Garo Hills (26), Ri-Bhoi (12), East Jaintia Hills eight, North Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills five each, South Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills four each, East Garo Hills two and South West Khasi Hills one.
