SHILLONG: The Meghalaya government announced on Thursday that 3 new colleges will be set up in the state, viz- a- viz veterinary, dairy and fishery colleges.
The veterinary and dairy colleges are said to be located in Kyrdemkulai, Ri Bhoi district and the fisheries college is said to be located in Garo hills, where the district has not yet been decided.
The chief minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma took to his micro-blogging tweeter site, and mentioned, "Cabinet has decided to set up 3 Colleges in the State- Veterinary, Dairy & Fisheries Colleges. The Veterinary & Dairy Colleges will be set up in Kyrdemkulai, Ri Bhoi District & Fisheries in Garo Hills District".
The admission to these colleges will be based upon the number of faculty members, with 60- 100 seats annually, chief minister Sangma clarified.
Also, the state government has approved the amendment to the Meghalaya District Courts (Ministerial) Service Rules 2020, which will foster district courts to employ and organize interview schedules at the district level instead of it being conducted by the high court.
