Meghalaya CM Conrad K. Sangma flags off first-ever ECHS mobile polyclinic

SHILLONG: In a first-of-its kind initiative by the Ex- servicemen's Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), HQ 101 Area organized a ceremony to mark the flagging off of a mobile ECHS polyclinic for Tura at Rhino Auditorium, Shillong. Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Sanjay Malik, GOC 101 Area, brought out that this pioneering initiative will result in tangible improvement in veteran health care in Meghalaya, especially for the five districts of Garo Hills.

Conrad K. Sangma, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, who flagged off the 'Clinic on Wheels' was effusive in his praise for veterans and the close synergy of 101 Area with the people of Meghalaya and expressed that healthcare for all is a top priority for him and such initiatives have his unstinted support.

The other senior dignitaries from the Air Force, BSF, Police, Department of Health and Family Welfare, and NEIGRIHMS who were present on the occasion expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which will facilitate not just primary treatment but also referrals for cashless treatment, supply of medicines, and emergency referrals, stated a press release.
