Meghalaya COVID-19 death toll rises to 79 with 81 new positive cases

One more death due to COVID-19 was confirmed in Meghalaya on Friday.

SHILLONG: One more death due to COVID-19 was confirmed in Meghalaya on Friday. With this, the death toll due to COVID-19 has risen to 79 in the State, even as 81 new positive cases and 111 recoveries were recorded.

The 81 new cases took the number of active cases to 1,631 and a total recovery of 7,091.

The new 81 cases include 51 from East Khasi Hills district (Armed forces/para military forces six and others 45), 21 from West Garo Hills district (Armed forces/ para military forces seven and others 14), six from West Jaintia Hills district, and one each from East Garo Hills district, East Jaintia Hills district and South Garo Hills district .

Among 111 new recoveries, 74 are from East Khasi Hills district, 11 from Ri-Bhoi district (Armed forces/para military forces one and others 10), seven each from South Garo Hills district and West Garo Hills district, five from East Jaintia Hills district, two each from South West Khasi hills district and West Khasi Hills district, and one each from East Garo Hills district, South West Garo Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district.
