Meghalaya has 13 cases, out of which 10 patients have recovered, one died and two are active

SHILLONG: Health officials of Meghalaya have stated that the person who recently tested positive for COVID-19 broke quarantine protocol.
"She broke quarantine once to buy stuff for the family," Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman Warr said.
It may be mentioned that the woman, who is in her 30's, is a maid in the residence of the first COVID-19 patient of Meghalaya.
Residents of the locality said that the woman had reportedly left the house to buy meat.
"Now high risk and low risk contact tracing is on," Dr Warr said.
The woman had gone into home quarantine since April 14, a day after the first COVID-19 patient was detected in Meghalaya.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that till Monday, a total of 2,480 samples have been sent for testing out of which 2,342 results came out negative and the number of results awaited are 125.
So far, Meghalaya has reported 13 COVID-19 cases, out of which 10 patients have recovered, one died and there are two active cases.
He also informed that the government is yet to receive the report of the person whose sample was sent for testing for the fifth time on Monday.
The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that all the residents of Meghalaya stranded in various parts of the Northeast numbering about 3,030 have reached the State.
Tynsong also informed that 8,000 students and individuals of the State stranded outside the region have registered themselves with the government.
He said that such persons will be brought back only if trains and flight services resumes.
"They will have to go through rapid tests in respective entry points," the Deputy Chief Minister said.
Presently, there are four entry points in the State – Ratacherra (East Jaintia Hills), Byrnihat (Ri-Bhoi), Bajengdoba (North Garo Hills) and Tikrikilla (West Garo Hills).
According to him if and when the Center allows, the operation of flights from Umroi Airport will resume and additional entry points will be created.
