SHILLONG: Meghalayan villagers from different blocks enthusiastically interacted with the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Vans as part of the growing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY).

These vans are visiting the villages in the interior, bringing attention to the beneficial programs that the central government is offering. Beneficiaries came to these IEC vans in large numbers at the event, eager to speak with representatives from banks, oil companies, and various departments of the central government and get information about bank loans and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

The IEC vans in the East Khasi Hills covered two villages in each of the blocks of Pynursla, Mawpat, and Sohiong. With the assistance of NABARD, Krishi Vikash Kendra, Gas Company, National Fertilizers Company Limited, and other government agencies, efforts were made to provide services under various government schemes and to educate the beneficiaries about the advantages of such schemes.

Similar initiatives were also implemented in the West Jaintia Hills district's Umlangshor and Mukhla Nongrim Gram Panchayats, which are part of the Thadlaskein Block. A number of beneficiaries convened at the VBSY location, where officials from multiple government agencies provided them with an overview of the advantageous initiatives of the organization.

The beneficiaries offered their opinions on the government's initiatives, providing a thorough overview of flagship schemes and programs spanning nine years. On these spots, calendars for 2024 as well as pamphlets and booklets with details on various community development and welfare initiatives were handed out.

Beginning on November 15 on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, the Yatra aims to provide all eligible beneficiaries with information regarding basic services such as clean drinking water, healthcare, food security, nutrition, housing for the impoverished, financial services, electricity connections, sanitation facilities, and high-quality education. The goal is to raise awareness and guarantee benefit delivery to the final mile.
