Shillong: Health and Family Welfare Minister of Meghalaya, Alexander Laloo Hek tested positive for coronavirus, after a week of he returning from New Delhi.
On Sunday, Dr Aman War, the Director of Health Services (MI) confirmed Hek has tested COVID positive on Saturday. Dr War said that the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), which was done on the arrival of Hek from New Delhi, was negative. However, after eight days of undergoing home isolation, Hek tested positive.
The health minister is asymptomatic, and will have to undergo another 10 days of isolation, said Dr War.
Hek had met union ministers and BJP central leaders during his visit to New Delhi.
