Meghalaya logs 489 new COVID cases, seven more deaths

SHILLONG: Meghalaya recorded seven new COVID-19 fatalities, and 489 new cases while 632 recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.

Of the seven new deaths, East Khasi Hills district recorded five and Ri-Bhoi and West Jaintia Hills districts recorded one fatality each.

With the latest figures, the State has 862 total deaths till date; 4,434 active cases and 46,228 people have so far recovered from the infection.

Of the 489 new cases - East Khasi Hills district recorded 262; West Jaintia Hills: 71; West Garo Hills: 57; Ri-Bhoi: 44; West Khasi Hills: 13; South Garo Hills: 12; East Jaintia Hills: nine; South West Garo Hills: seven; North Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills: five each; and East Garo Hills: four.

Of the 4,434 active cases, East Khasi Hills has 1,540; Ri-Bhoi: 753; West Jaintia Hills: 589; West Garo Hills: 498; North Garo Hills: 270; West Khasi Hills: 174; East Garo Hills: 173; South West Khasi Hills: 141; South Garo Hills: 106; East Jaintia Hills: 100; and South West Garo Hills: 90.
