Meghalaya logs six Covid-19 casualties, new cases 138

Meghalaya, on Saturday, recorded six more Covid-19 deaths taking the overall tally to 1,352.

SHILLONG: Meghalaya, on Saturday, recorded six more Covid-19 deaths taking the overall tally to 1,352. All the six fatalities recorded were not vaccinated, informed Health authorities.

Of them four were recorded in East Khasi Hills district and one each in Ri-Bhoi and West Garo Hills districts.

The State also recorded 138 fresh infections and 226 recovered from the virus.

With the latest figures, Meghalaya has 1,913 active cases while 74,750 Covid-infected persons have recovered from the virus so far.

Of the 138 new cases, East Khasi Hills district recorded 66, Ri-Bhoi district 18, West Jaintia Hills district 16, West Khasi Hills district 15, West Garo Hills district 11, East Jaintia Hills district six, South West Garo Hills district four, East Garo Hills district and North Garo Hills district one each.

Meanwhile, the district-wise distribution of active cases are – East Khasi Hills district: 898; West Khasi Hills: 379; West Jaintia Hills: 216; Ri-Bhoi: 168; South West Khasi Hills district: 98; West Garo Hills: 79; East Jaintia Hills: 38; East Garo Hills: 14; North Garo Hills: 11; South West Garo Hills: 10; and South Garo Hills district two.
