Shillong: Meghalaya Police arrested a 25-year old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at Mawrusyiar village on Friday in West Khasi Hills district.
The accused has been identified as Dominic Dajer of Nongkusba village in the district.
As per reports, the accused molested the minor while she was on her way to school. The locals later caught the accused and handed him over to the police after receiving information from the victim's family.
According to the Police officials, the victim underwent a medical check-up. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and started an investigation into the incident.
