SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Police on Sunday cautioned citizens against an old SOS video message claiming that 2,000 Sikh families are stuck in a gurudwara, which has resurfaced again. “Please refrain from sharing/posting the video. It’s nothing but FAKE!” the twitter handle of the State Police stated. In a press statement issued to the media, the Meghalaya Police informed that at around 9:30 am on August 15, the twitter account of Meghalaya Police was tagged by a twitterati whereby a video was shared along with a tweet informing that it was an SOS Message through social media and that 2,000 Sikh families were stuck in a gurudwara.

“On receiving the information, Police team forthwith verified the information and ascertained that there was no such incident happening in the State,” the statement from the State Police stated.

The police also informed that the tweet and the video was also probed, and it was established that it was an old video which had resurfaced again this year.

“Furthermore, there is no such commotion which is being reported from any part of the State, and that the tweet which was shared through social media is nothing but pseudo,” the State Police said.
