Meghalaya: Portfolios Of Four Ministers Reallocated After Government Rearranges State Cabinet

The reshuffle in the Meghalaya Cabinet was ordered by the Governor of the state on the advice of the Chief Minister of Meghalaya.

Shillong: The Meghalaya government has announced the reallocation of portfolios of four ministers after the state cabinet was reshuffled on Friday.

As per the latest notifications issued by the Government of Meghalaya dated September 18, 2021, it was informed that acting on the advice of the Chief Minister, the Governor of Meghalaya has ordered the allocation/reallocation of four ministers of the state cabinet. The list of ministers also includes the Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong.

The portfolios of power, housing, parliamentary affairs, and public works department (roads) have been allocated to Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong.

The power portfolio was previously held by James K Sangma, who has been now announced as the new Health Minister of Meghalaya. Apart from this, he will also hold the portfolios of food, civil supplies & consumers affairs, forests & environment, information & public relations, law, taxation & stamps department.

Earlier, Prestone Tynsong had presided over the health department after the removal of AL Hek as the Health Minister.

The portfolios of tourism, commerce & industries, urban affairs, municipal administration, general administration and fisheries departments have been allocated to Sniawbhalang Dhar.

Lastly, the transport and public works (buildings) departments have been allocated to Cabinet Minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare.
