Meghalaya on Monday recorded more recoveries than new COVID-19 cases.

SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Monday recorded more recoveries than new COVID-19 cases. While the State recorded 48 new cases, 139 persons recovered from infection of the virus during the last 24 hours. With this, the active cases slid to 1,514. The number of recovered patients stands at 7,471.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War informed that of 48 new cases recorded on Monday, 23 were from East Khasi Hills district, 14 from West Jaintia Hills, five (Armed & paramilitary forces: two; civilians: three); three from North Garo Hills; and one each from Ri-Bhoi, South West Garo Hills and Souith West Khasi Hills.

The total number of persons tested for the virus till 2 pm on Monday is 1,98,343. Of them, a total of 1,89,277 tested negative.

Till date, a total of 9,066 persons tested positive for the virus out of which 81 have died of the virus, 7471 have recovered and 1514 are active.

Dr War also informed that of the new recovered cases, 117 were from West Khasi Hills; 11 from Ri-Bhoi district; six from West Garo Hills; two each from North Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills; and one from West Jaintia Hills.
