SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Saturday recorded 505 new infections, 499 new recoveries and three deaths from COVID-19, health authorities said.
Ri-Bhoi, South West Garo Hills and West Garo Hills recorded one death each.
With the latest figures, the total number of COVID-19 fatalities has gone up to 817. There are 4,668 active cases and 42,500 has so far recovered from the virus.
Of the 505 new cases, East Khasi Hills recorded (148), West Jaintia Hills (92), Ri-Bhoi (83), West Garo Hills (63), North Garo Hills (44), East Garo Hills (23), West Khasi Hills (16), South West Garo Hills (11), South Garo Hills (10), East Jaintia Hills nine and South West Khasi Hills six.
Of the 4,668 active cases, East Khasi Hills has 1378, West Jaintia Hills (707), Ri-Bhoi (677), West Garo Hills (617), East Garo Hills (271), North Garo Hills (242), South West Khasi Hills (225), South West Garo Hills (170), West Khasi Hills (141), South Garo Hills (131) and East Jaintia Hills (109).
East Khasi Hills has the most number of COVID-19 fatalities with 610 followed by West Jaintia Hills with 71, West Garo Hills has 41, Ri-Bhoi (30), East Jaintia Hills (19), West Khasi Hills (14), South West Garo Hills (12), East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills district has six deaths each while South Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills has four deaths each.
